Madison Avenue Face & Body is led by licensed medical professionals with advanced training in medical aesthetics and neuromuscular activation. Our team is committed to patient safety, individualized treatment planning, and evidence-based care. All services are provided following a comprehensive, in-person medical evaluation to ensure each treatment aligns with a patient’s goals, medical history, and overall health.
Each provider on our team operates within their licensed scope of practice and participates in ongoing education to remain current with clinical standards and treatment technologies. Collaboration and oversight are central to our approach, ensuring care is delivered responsibly and thoughtfully. Provider roles vary by license and scope of practice.
Dr. Edward A. Alvarez, DDS, C.Ac.

Dr. Edward A. Alvarez is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Madison Avenue Face & Body and has practiced in New York City since 1998. He is a licensed healthcare professional with extensive training and experience in medical aesthetics, laser technologies, and advanced neuromuscular activation protocols.
Dr. Alvarez earned his dental degree from New York University and completed advanced medical education and clinical training through institutions including the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. He has practiced medical aesthetics since 2007 and focuses on delivering individualized, physician-led care following comprehensive, in-person medical evaluations.
Dr. Alvarez has also completed postgraduate training in medical acupuncture through Harvard Medical School’s physician education programs. This training informs his integrative approach to patient evaluation and treatment planning and is incorporated within the scope of physician-led care following an in-person medical evaluation.
He is board certified by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and is a physician member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Alvarez serves as faculty for the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, where he educates physicians, nurses, and physician assistants through certification programs involving neuromodulators, dermal fillers, chemical peels, lasers, and other energy-based technologies.
Dr. Alvarez also serves as a Key Opinion Leader for Cutera, participating in physician education and professional training related to energy-based device technologies. His role focuses on clinical education and best-practice instruction and does not constitute endorsement of any specific treatment, device, or outcome. He lectures nationally and internationally on medical aesthetics, laser technologies, and clinical protocol development.
His clinical experience and professional insights have been featured in major media outlets including Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Prevention Magazine, Forbes, Inc., and People en Español. Dr. Alvarez has also appeared on regional and national television, including programming on FOX and Univision.
Dr. Alvarez holds advanced certification across multiple laser platforms and wavelengths, including Alexandrite, Nd:YAG, Q-switched, and other energy-based systems. He is a Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute and has lectured extensively on laser safety, clinical application, and treatment protocols.
In addition to his clinical leadership at Madison Avenue Face & Body, Dr. Alvarez is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Restimulate Health, Inc., a healthcare innovation company focused on developing neuromuscular activation protocols designed to support muscle activation and functional improvement following an in-person medical evaluation. His work includes protocol development for individuals with neurologic injury, neuromuscular conditions, age-related muscle loss, and performance limitations.
Dr. Alvarez is also a member of the Forbes New York Business Council and contributes regularly on topics related to healthcare innovation, clinical leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Gustavo Sepulveda, MD
Attending Physician
Dr. Gustavo Sepulveda is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. He brings a strong foundation in internal medicine and evidence-based clinical care to his work in medical aesthetics.
Dr. Sepulveda serves as an Attending Physician at Mount Sinai, where he is involved in the care of patients within his specialty and maintains active clinical practice. His background in internal medicine supports a comprehensive, safety-focused approach to patient evaluation and treatment planning.
At Madison Avenue Face & Body, Dr. Sepulveda participates in physician-led care following in-person medical evaluations. He is committed to patient safety, clinical excellence, and individualized treatment planning in accordance with New York State regulations.
Dr. Alejandro Espaillat, MD
Attending Physician
Dr. Alejandro Espaillat is a Harvard and Brown University–trained physician and a board-trained ophthalmologist and eye surgeon with advanced training in aesthetic medicine. He is board certified in Aesthetic Medicine, a Diplomate of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Espaillat’s background in ophthalmology and ocular surgery informs a precision-focused, safety-oriented approach to aesthetic evaluation and treatment planning. His work emphasizes individualized, physician-led care following comprehensive, in-person medical evaluations.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Espaillat has academic and research experience related to the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare. His interests include the responsible use of emerging technologies to support clinical decision-making, physician education, and healthcare innovation.
Dr. Espaillat maintains active clinical practice in New York, Florida, and South Carolina and participates in physician-led care at Madison Avenue Face & Body in accordance with New York State regulations. Surgical procedures are not performed at Madison Avenue Face & Body.
Dr. Yi Zhao, MD, PHD
Nutritional Advisor
Dr. Yi Zhao is a physician-scientist with more than 30 years of clinical and academic experience. She earned her medical degree in China and completed her doctoral training in Japan, followed by postdoctoral research training at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zhao also previously served as a faculty instructor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Dr. Zhao’s background spans clinical medicine, biomedical research, and academic instruction. Her training and experience inform a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to health, wellness, and nutritional strategy.
At Madison Avenue Face & Body, Dr. Zhao serves as a Nutritional Advisor, providing guidance that supports overall wellness and complements physician-led care. Her role is advisory in nature and does not replace individualized medical evaluation or treatment.

Claudia Bode
Aesthetician
Claudia Bode is a licensed aesthetician with more than 25 years of professional experience in skincare and cosmetic treatments. Her career has included work with a diverse clientele and extensive hands-on experience in facial treatments and chemical peel procedures.
Ms. Bode has been recognized by national media outlets for her work in the aesthetics field, including a feature in the New York Post. She has also received multiple professional acknowledgments within the cosmetology and skincare industry over the course of her career.
At Madison Avenue Face & Body, Ms. Bode provides aesthetic services within her licensed scope of practice and collaborates as part of a physician-led care team. Her work emphasizes skin health, safety, and individualized treatment planning consistent with in-office clinical oversight.
